EL SALVADOR – BOSQUE LYA
This natural Red Bourbon comes to us from Gustavo Vides Valdes in El Salvador. Named after his daughter Lya, Finca Bosque Lya sits in the shadow of the Santa Ana Volcano in the Apaneca Mountain range of western El Salvador. Producing mainly Bourbon varietals, Gustavo and his team also grow other lots to further experiment with different processes, as well as to widen the diversity of the farm’s yield.
Once harvested, beans from Finca Bosque Lya are taken to the El Borbollon mill, which serves several farms in the region. Employing around 40 women, who hand check all cherries for defects before they are prepared for distribution, the quality of beans from this region is exceptionally high. Finca Bosque Lya is no exception, a collaboration between forward thinking farming and high quality processing, resulting in a sweet, complex and clean cup of coffee.
