Tasting Notes
Grape • Peach • Praline • Blackberries
Expect a classic, elegant Ethiopian cup — bright and clean with juicy stone fruit, subtle floral notes, and a sweet praline-like finish. The washed process highlights the vibrant acidity and delicate complexity that Sidamo is famous for.
Rooted in Community
Bette Buna (“House of Coffee”) works directly with local farmers in Taferi Kela to rebuild healthy soils, improve harvesting practices, and distribute thousands of climate-resilient coffee seedlings each year. Their efforts are transforming livelihoods in a region where many families still live on very low incomes. They also run an inclusive nursery staffed by deaf employees, people with disabilities, and single mothers, offering fair, flexible work that’s rare in rural Ethiopia.
About This Lot
This washed coffee was grown by community farmers at 1900–2100 masl and carefully processed at the Bette Buna washing station. The cherries were depulped, fermented for 24–36 hours, thoroughly washed, and dried slowly on raised beds. Every step is fully traceable, ensuring fair wages and exceptional quality.
