  • This exceptional microlot coffee showcases the innovation and skill of producer Jairo Arcila at Santa Mónica farm in Colombia. Microlots are small, carefully separated batches that offer outstanding quality, traceability, and unique character, and this one truly delivers.

    Tasting Notes: Watermelon, Cherry, Kombucha

This coffee was grown by Jairo Arcila at the farm Santa Mónica. This coffee was exposed to a dry anaerobic fermentation period of 72 hours

with the pulp on. During this fermentation stage watermelon pulp and wine yeast were added. The cherries were then pulped and placed to

dry on raised beds until the ideal moisture content was achieved. This microlot is 100% Castillo. This variety was developed by

Federación Nacional de Cafeteros. It is more productive than Caturra and resistant to coffee leaf rust.

    Why You’ll Love It

Freshly roasted in small batches in Newcastle, this limited microlot is perfect for those who enjoy bold, experimental speciality coffee beans with pronounced fruit notes. It performs beautifully as espresso or filter and is ideal for anyone looking to explore exciting co-ferment coffees.

Brewing Tip: For maximum fruit expression, we recommend a medium grind for espresso or a slightly coarser grind for pour-over and AeroPress.
